- Book Signing Event - "Through the Lens of an Old Man"

"Here’s to You/I Do event planner, Nancy Dobek, planned and coordinated my book signing event at the Derby Neck Library, in Derby Connecticut on 18 February 2014. Prior to the event she had the foresight to contact the local on line newspaper (Valley Independent Sentinel) for an interview helping to set up the conditions for a successful event. This interview exposed the book to a local audience in the Naugatuck Valley, including, Derby, Ansonia, Seymour, Shelton and surrounding cities.

In addition to the sizable article generated by the interview Nancy also used another valuable resource, “Facebook” as a reminder and source to get the information out about the signing.

Nancy made contact with the head librarian and set up the physical conditions for the signing which included a sizable room and appropriate seating. There was a coffee hour that followed the event so that people could meet each other and discuss the book while I signed copies I sold that night at the event. There were over forty people present and the crowd was very open and receptive to the book.

The Connecticut Post Newspaper had sent a reporter who did a sizable article on the signing. This also exposed the book on a local level the aforementioned communities.

Once this signing was complete Nancy sent copies of the book to several major newspapers for their review. It included the New York Times, Washington Post and WTNH channel 8 in hopes of getting some television exposure on their “Connecticut Style” program.

Nancy Dobek’s efforts helped me in many ways to get local advertising and exposure for my book without costing a huge advertising expense. Nancy did everything expected of an event coordinator including the introduction on the night of the event."

Wedding and Reception at Lighthouse Point and Carousel, New Haven, CT

For the wedding I coordinated the rental of the Pavilion for the ceremony and Carousel House for the reception which followed.
David M. Grant catered the buffet dinner. I acted as liaison for the couple between the caterer and the rental of the Carousel House.

On the day of the wedding I was on site to meet with the catering staff, florist, baker and other vendors to insure that everything was in order and run on time.

My attentiveness to the details and immediate resolutions enabled my clients to have the fairy tale wedding of their dreams.

Pig Roast Wedding Reception

The coordination of this event entailed having David M. Grant Caterer’s cater the pig roast.

Decorations for the hall were chosen by the client with my professional expertise. We decided on table centerpieces and the gift table arrangement.

Everything was put into place the previous night. Through my organization the reception was a delight rather than a stressful morning for the client and the couple.

For this event I coordinated the catering for the buffet acting as liaison between the client and David M. Grant Caterers. I made the table decorations and crafted a mini bassinet to be used for cards and small gift items.

On the day of the event I was onsite to meet with the caterer. Assist with the set up and decorations for the party which allowed the client and guests of honor greet their family and friends and enjoy the day.
